Latibule | (n.) a hiding place; a place of safety and comfort
This lingerie set is inspired by the idea of a sanctuary. This sanctuary can include secret gardens, secret treehouses, and hidden rooms but is not only limited to a physical location. This sanctuary can also be found through a state-of-mind, through a person, as well as through an intimate piece of clothing. During a period of uncertainty and disconnection, many have lost their sense of security and their safe haven. Working from home has become the new normal whereas exploring the outside world has become a new form of refuge for many individuals.
This lingerie set strives to explore the concept of creating a bridge between the self, the sanctuary, and the outside world. The idea is to use intimates to establish this connection by developing a multipurpose design that can be worn both as underwear and as outerwear. The lingerie set will incorporate a calm, romantic colour palette involving warm tones of peach, blush, champagne, beige, and rose. Utilizing a variety of layered sheer, silk, and lace fabrics, this lingerie will transform the outside world into the new latibule.
