3D Capsule Collection

Spring / Summer 2025
This digital capsule collection was fully designed and modelled using Clo3D software. The collection involved developing custom fabrics, trims, and hardware; creating customized avatars complete with makeup, hair, and tattoos; designing jewelry and accessories; producing branded packaging; and building scenes, environments, and props.

The idea for this capsule collection started from a simple, yet beautiful, sea urchin shell that was found buried in a sandy beach. This collection echoes the unique textures, colours, and shapes of sea urchin shells, oyster shells, and mussel shells that are found along the west coast of Canada. A sea urchin begins its journey with a protective and rigid shell but as it washes up on shore and dries, the shell becomes quite delicate. This concept is perfectly captured by the corset and top designs that feature structured bodies juxtaposed with delicate textures, lace, and beading. The looks are completed with flowy skirts and wide leg pants that are intended to mimic the ocean waves that help to propel these ocean treasures within reach.

Custom Fabrics, Trims, and Hardware
To mimic the unique textures and shapes of sea urchin shells and oyster shells, custom fabric textures and prints were developed for this collection. The creation of the custom fabrics involved layering prints and maps (i.e. normal maps, displacement maps, opacity maps, and roughness maps) to create the desired effects. The development of the eyelet lace fabric was a more intricate process and required using an additional 3D development software. The fabric was developed using Adobe Substance 3D Sampler to layer the mesh pattern as the base with the stitched sea urchin shell pattern as the top layer.
Along with developing custom fabrics, this collection involved creating custom trims and hardware such as sequins, beading, eyelets, lace trims, piping, and binding.
Customized Avatars
Each of the avatars in this collection were customized with makeup, hair, and tattoos. All the makeup looks were created by pulling the avatar face texture files from Clo3D and using Photoshop to add the eyeshadow, eyeliner, and blush. The tattoo designs were added by extracting the avatar body texture files from Clo3D and using Photoshop to add the artwork.
Jewelry and Accessories
Custom jewelry and accessories were designed to style the collection garments. All jewelry and accessories were fully created using Clo3D. Each look has a mix of earrings, necklaces, bracelets, belts, and sunglasses to compliment the outfits.
Branded Packaging
Branded packaging materials and products were developed to display the garments. This includes branded hangers, mannequins, shopping bags, hang tags, and garment labels. All packaging materials and products were fully developed within Clo3D.
Scenes, Environments, and Props
To showcase the final collection, custom scenes, environments, and props were built. This includes building a storefront, a showroom, and a runway scene. All elements of the scenes and environments were built within Clo3D and props were imported into the spaces.
Lighting panels were added to each of the scenes to highlight specific areas and lighting environments were adjusted to achieve the desired lighting effects in the final renders.
